• petitioner Edited 2021-05-31 THIS BEING have not at all idea what some Gnome full-stack engineers were hookah use, drinking, should you prefer snorting when the person designed those horrid Gnome 3 graphic interface. Fortunately MATE came into focus to continue the sane and attractive hub from Gnome 2. It does seem a smidgen harsh along with Sourceforge gives it a account like this: "...non-intuitive and unattractive dashboard for users, harnessing traditional computing desktop metaphor."
• nspyraishn Posted 2012-02-04 MATE is the Linux Community's answer to GNOME 3 and Unity's failure to address user concerns of selected K.I.S.S. principled, fully-functional desktop environment that "just works". At that site turn some patrons who want something new, something fresh and often something like Unity of purpose or GNOME shell. But while these UIs may be pretty, those people satisfy for their aesthetics by speculating off functionality and performance. Pertaining to everyone else, there's MATE :-) Disclaimer: I am notable satisfied user belonging to GNOME 3.2 shell on my desktop, but I think for my netbook, MATE is a far optimal choice.
